Upcoming games - January and February

The boys have been playing their hearts out in recent games. Unfortunately, due to injuries and other commitments the team has struggled to field a full line up. I wanted to post all of our upcoming games so that parents and players can plan ahead or let me know in advance if they can not make it. We only had 4 players and a goalie against des lacs on Friday night. The team came together and played extremely well despite having no subs. Unfortunately, we lost 5-3 but there was no lack of playing time or experience for those present.

January 21 - @ Franco cite 5:30pm

February 7 - @ mont blue 5:15pm

February 12 - @ st Alexandre 6:30pm

There will be no practices this week as exams begin Wednesday, but scheduled games continue as planned. Please email me if you have any questions.

Welcome to 2014!!

Hello soccer fans,

I hope everyone had a very enjoyable holiday break spent with loved ones and relaxing.  The boys indoor soccer season continues our first week back to school.

Practices this upcoming week are scheduled for TUES and WED evening from 5:15 a 6:30

The boys have their first game of 2014 on Friday @ 6:00pm at home vs Erabliere.  Although we beat them 8-0 in our first encounter we can never underestimate our opponents and we should use this week to get back into the swing of things and get the rust off.

Please notify me via email if you cannot make either practice or the game Friday. Thanks and GO HAWKS!!!!

Reminder of no practice tonight - game on Friday

Hey soccer fans,

Just a reminder that there will be no practice tonight - the hawks had a fast, focused practice on Tuesday with a good turn out of players.  The game on Friday is scheduled for 6:15 - so please be dressed and geared up by 5:30 so that you can help with setup of the nets.  If you have any questions please send me an email. Hawks move to 2-1 on the season

The Hawks played a thorough game on Monday with a 6-3 win over gracefield. The whole team played well and it was a team effort that brought the hawks to victory. 

Goaltending was a key in this game as grade 7 zack made some impressive saves down the stretch. There were also notable contributions from a variety of grade 7 & 8 players in the second half. 

Special recognition is to be given to grade 7 Isaac whose defensive play and tremendous hustle froze out the gracefield strikers close to the end of the game. 

The boys continue on tonight (Wednesday) as they scrimmage against the always voracious PWHS girls team. These scrimmages can become heated and really test the skill, focus and endurance of every player. 

Our next game is on December 13 @ home at 6pm vs St Alexander. We will tentatively practice on Tues and Thursday  of next week in preparation for what should be a tough game.

Soccer this week

Tonight the boys have a chance to redeem the loss they suffered at the hands of gracefield last week. The boys kick off in their 3rd game of the season tonight at 6pm @ home. 

In regards to practices - The boys will be scrimmaging with the Pwhs girls on Wednesday from 3:45 - 5:15pm. 

This should be a good week for the boys to get some excellent in game experience and really work on different game situations.

Practices November 26 & 27

Hello soccer fans

The boys played very well in gracefield and despite losing 6-5 I believe that our team learned some valuable lessons for the rest of the season. 

Out next game is scheduled for December 2 at 6:00pm  @ home vs gracefield 

We will practice this week on Tuesday (nov 26) and Wednesday (nov 27) 5:15 - 6:30

Yesterday the boys followed up their game with a very strong practice/scrimmage with ms Murphy's Pwhs girls team. The boys led for most of the game before the hungry falcon Girls scored in extra time for the win.

Good work boys. Let's keep up the intensity next week and prepare for a complete effort in our rematch.
